As one of the Mississauga Hockey League's largest associations, we rely solely on volunteers like you to help our youth learn the great game of hockey. More importantly, minor hockey is a fantastic vehicle for teaching our children valuable life skills. At Erindale, our focus is athlete-centered, meaning that we place a greater emphasis on fun and development than winning.

While the volunteer commitment may seem large in terms of police checks and certifications, they are necessary to ensure that Erindale's children learn the Great Canadian Game in a safe and positive atmosphere. If selected, you will be joining a strong and supportive group of volunteers as well as reaping the rewards of watching children grow and develop. Thank you for putting your name forward. We do appreciate it!

OHF Screening Process: 2026-2027

The Ontario Screening Submission Portal is open as of April 1, 2026 for the 2026-27 season through the OHF website here: https://www.ohf.on.ca/risk-management/vulnerable-sector-checks-vsc/. Anyone aged 17 and under will not be required to complete screening.

  • Process for Returning Individuals for the 2026-27 season

  • Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, or Third-Party Instructors, etc. that are returning for the 2026-27 season, and had their screening approved by the OHF this past season with a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) from 2024 or 2025, will only be required to complete the online declaration through the online submission portal for the upcoming season. The declaration from the 2025-26 will expire on May 31, 2026.

  •

  • Process for Returning Individuals with a 2023 VSC (expired May 31, 2026)

  • Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, or Third-Party Instructors, etc. that are returning for the 2026-27 season and had their screening approved by the OHF this past season with a Vulnerable Sector Check from 2023 will be required to submit a new VSC and complete the online declaration for this season. Both are done through the online submission portal. The screening for these individuals will expire May 31, 2026.

  •

  • Process for New Individuals

  • New Team Officials, On-Ice Officials, or Third-Party Instructors, etc. for the 2026-27 season will be required to submit a VSC and complete the online declaration for this season. New Individuals must register with their Association in the HCR prior to submitting their screening to the OHF.

  •

  • Receipts

  • The OHF will NOT be accepting any receipts for a VSC between the periods of April 1 and July 30, 2026. The police services generally take 6-8 weeks to process an application, so anyone who is required to submit a VSC should start the process with their police service as soon as possible. They can then submit their completed VSC to the OHF and complete the online declaration once they have had it returned to them by police services.
