Congratulations Greg Rapier!

Dear Erindale Hockey Association Members,

We are thrilled to share some fantastic news from the recent MHL Annual General Meeting. The Erindale Hockey Association extends our sincerest and most heartfelt congratulations to Greg Rapier, who has accepted the prestigious role of MHL Chair/President!

Greg's journey with Erindale Hockey began in 2003 when his son Justin started in Novice (now U9), followed by Jordan in IP in 2004. Over the years, Greg has been an invaluable member of our association, contributing in numerous capacities. He has served as a dedicated Coach and Convenor, took on the crucial role of Ice Director, VP Convening and ultimately became our esteemed Erindale President in 2023.

During his presidency, Greg expertly guided us through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID Crisis. He also served concurrently for 4 years on the MHL Board involved in convening, marketing and operations committees.

As President, Greg fostered strong relationships with other associations and their leaders. His commitment extended to the MHL, where he actively participated in various committees, including the Convening Committee and the Referee Liaison Committee, and he will remain a member of the Erindale Board as Past President.

Even after Justin and Jordan concluded their playing careers with us, Greg's passion for hockey and our young athletes has continued. He has remained a dedicated "Non-Parent" coach and is currently coaching the U13 Red Team, a role he enjoys even more as he has the pleasure of being able to work alongside both of his sons. Justin just completed his 8th year as an Erindale coach and Jordan has completed his 2nd. We are also proud to note that Justin has continued his involvement in hockey and the MHL as a respected referee. Greg's coaching talents were not limited to the ice, as he also coached his boys in baseball, where Jordan achieved significant success.

With Greg's move to the MHL, I have accepted the nomination at Erindale's AGM to take on the role of Erindale President moving forward. I hope to continue the great work of Greg and our other past Presidents, including Ted Varty and Dan Bowman, on behalf of everyone at Erindale.

Please join us in celebrating Greg's remarkable achievements and his new leadership role within the MHL. This appointment is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of minor hockey. We are incredibly proud to have Greg as part of the Erindale Hockey Association family and wish him the very best in his new endeavour as MHL President.
